Who We Are

Mountain View Daycare and Preschool is dedicated to providing and creating a faith based nurturing environment for you and your child, designed to support the growth of the whole child from toddlers through preschool.

We aim to impart foundations in the Word of God through daily lessons and routines that support spiritual growth as well as practical, development minded, learning goals for your child, as well as fostering kindness, respect and a love for others.

Our Statement of Faith comes from Proverbs 22:6 “Start Children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it”. We believe in the creation of a firm foundation that children can build on for the rest of their lives.

Meet our Mountain View Team!

  • Shannon Taylor

    Regional Director - taylor.mvdcp@gmail.com

Meet Shannon Taylor, Mountain View Daycare and Preschool’s Regional Director. Shannon’s dream has always been to create a childcare center and preschool that teaches and reaches, that instills the word of God to all who walk through the doors, and to create a place where everyone feels welcome and safe. Shannon has experience in the daycare field having taught in and directed them in the past. When Shannon is not working on “all things daycare” she is most likely gardening or enjoying time in the word with her husband! Shannon wanted to share a Bible verse with everyone that has grown to be MVDCP’s foundation verse:

“Start Children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it”

    Proverbs 22:6

  • James Balser

    Site Director - balser.mvdcp@gmail.com

Meet James Balser, Mountain View Daycare & Preschool’s Site Director. James Balser joins our team with a wealth of experience including a Masters of Arts in Teaching from James Madison University in Early Childhood Education, a Bachelors degree in Music Education from Bridgewater College, 6 years in the Teaching Field and over 10 years in Children’s Ministry at Victory Worship Center and World Outreach. When James (Mr. B) is not working at the daycare, you can often find him on a local Disc Golf course or at home with his wife and daughter! Below is a quote from James about MVDCP:

“I hope that everyone who comes through the doors at Mountain View feels safe and at home. I want all of our families to know we will do everything in our power to make sure that their child or children, and their family, experience God through a Christ-like environment conducive to spiritual, intellectual, social and emotional growth!”

  • Bethany Brasher

    Lead Teacher

Meet Bethany Brasher, one of our Mountain View Teachers.

Bethany is the PreK teacher at Mountain View Daycare & Preschool.

In her own words, “I am so excited to have this opportunity to work with these students! I have been working in children's ministry and education for 38 years and have loved every minute. My favorite part about working at MVDCP is seeing the passion the kids have about the little things, from learning how to spell and advancing their vocabulary to learning about bugs and how cool they are. I am excited for the future of Mountain View and the impact it will have on our community and its children!”

2 Timothy 1:7 "For God has not given us the spirit of fear, but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind"

  • Makayla Gilliland

    Teacher

Meet Makayla Gilliland, our Toddler Teacher at Mountain View Daycare & Preschool

"The community is why I am here. I love learning and growing and that is what Mountain View is all about. Through being a nanny for three years and working with children through churches for over a decade, I am so excited to share my expertise with the children in our community. I learned early that God is with us and for us, along all of life's many twists and turns, and I am so excited to share the love that God shows me to the children here every day!" Makayla is also currently working towards her degree in early childhood education, so, in her words, "God has me right where I need to be!"

Galatians 5:13-14 -  You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another humbly in love. For the entire law is fulfilled in keeping this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.”
